AI Workflows

Permission required: ai.case-chat.use (to open the AI workflows pages)

AI workflows are longer analyses that produce a work product a lawyer reviews: a list of findings, a form preview or a declaration draft. Unlike the chat, each workflow has a clear review step, and the results are kept so you can come back to them.

You can reach AI workflows in three places:

I-589 preparation and Statement preparation always work on one case. On the AI Workflows page their cards offer Open a case; open the case and use its AI workflows tab.

2. The AI Workflows Page

The page has two views, switched at the top:

  • Workflows — the workflow cards.
  • Runs — a table of cross-check runs with the columns Case, Workflow, Status, Findings, Documents read, Started by and Started. Click a run to open its review.

Who Sees Which Runs

  • Regular users see only the runs they started (the table is titled Your runs).
  • Administrators see every run in the firm (the table is titled Runs).

Runs are kept: running a workflow again never overwrites what the previous run found.

3. Cross-check

Permission required: ai.cross-check.use — to approve a run: ai.cross-check.approve

A cross-check compares what the documents say with the case's and client's confirmed details and with each other. It helps you catch contradictions before filing.

Starting a Cross-check

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the AI Workflows page, click Run a cross-check on the Cross-check card.
    • In a case, open the AI workflows tab and click the Cross-check card.
    • In Yellow AI, open the Workflows tab in the right panel and click Cross-check.
  2. In the Run a cross-check dialog, choose the Case (already filled in when you start from a case).
  3. Optionally fill in Narrow to a topic (for example "entry date, family details"). Leave it empty to check everything.
  4. Under Documents to read, choose what to include:
    • By type — select document types. The types useful for a cross-check are preselected.
    • Pick documents — tick individual documents. Documents marked Client are filed on the client and shared by all their cases.
  5. Click Start cross-check.

The run takes a few minutes. You can leave the page; the run keeps going and waits for you in the runs list.

Run Status

Reading the Results

The review page shows a summary at the top: Status, Documents read (with any unreadable documents), Statements read, Confirmed details used and Started. Click Open case to go to the case.

Each finding shows its severity (High, Medium, Low) and type:

Finding typeMeaning
Sources disagreeTwo sources say different things
No supporting evidenceA claim that nothing in the file supports

Separately, a Form gaps card lists I-589 lines that no confirmed detail answers. These are information only and do not hold up sign-off.

Pay attention to these messages:

MessageWhat to do
The case has changed since this runDocuments were added or removed after the run. Run a new cross-check for an up-to-date picture.
There was little to check againstNothing was read, the documents had no readable text (for example a scan without a text layer), or the case and client have no confirmed details. This is not a clean result. Select the case documents, fill in the client's details and run it again.
No inconsistencies foundNothing contradicted the confirmed details. The message says how many details, statements and documents were compared.

Reviewing Findings

For each finding:

  1. Optionally type a note in Add a note (optional).
  2. Click This is a real problem to accept it, or Dismiss if it is not an issue.
  3. To reconsider a decision, click Change.

The Sign-off card shows how many findings have been reviewed.

Approving the Run

When every finding has been reviewed, click Approve cross-check in the Sign-off card. The run is marked Approved with your name and the date, and findings can no longer be changed. If there are no findings, approving records that the case was checked.

4. I-589 Preparation

Permission required: ai.i589.use

This shows the I-589 as one document, assembled from the case, the client's identity details and family members. It updates each time you open it.

  1. Open the case and go to the AI workflows tab.
  2. Click the I-589 preparation card.
  3. Read the result:
    • Every form line is verified — all filled lines come from verified details. Lines left blank are the attorney's call or are filled in person.
    • Not ready to file — lists the fields that still need a human before they can appear on the form.

Only details entered or confirmed by a person appear as form content. Values the AI read from a document but nobody confirmed are shown struck through with a Not verified label. Other markers you may see:

MarkerMeaning
A document reads ... — not verifiedA document shows a different value from the verified one
Attorney decidesThe line is left for the attorney's judgement
Needs a decisionSomeone must decide what goes here
Blank by designThe line is intentionally left blank
Unconfirmed suggestionA family member the AI suggested but nobody confirmed

To fix a gap, update the client's or case's details (or review the values the AI read from their documents) and open the preview again. Click All workflows to go back. To fill and export the actual government form, see Government Forms.

5. Statement Preparation

Permission required: ai.statement.use — to approve a draft: ai.statement.approve

This turns the client's own statement into a structured declaration draft. The draft is always assembled from the client's own account, never written from case data, so the case must have a client statement on file.

Preparing a Draft

  1. Open the case, go to the AI workflows tab and click Statement preparation.
  2. Choose Draft in English or Draft in Turkish.
  3. Under Documents to read, select the client statement(s). Only statement documents can be used.
  4. Click Prepare declaration.

You can leave the page while it works. All drafts for the case are listed under Declaration drafts with their Status, Sections, Questions for the client, Language, Started by and Started. Every draft is kept.

Reviewing a Draft

Each section of the draft shows:

  • The drafted paragraph, which you can edit directly.
  • The client's own words — the quotes from the statement the paragraph is based on, with the source document.
  • Ask the client — questions to clarify with the client, if any.

For each section:

  1. Optionally add a note.
  2. Click Accept, or after editing the text, Save my wording and accept. Click Drop this section to leave it out.
  3. To change your decision, click Reopen.

When every section has been reviewed, click Approve declaration. The draft is marked approved with your name.

Separate from the workflows above, CaseBright can read uploaded case and client documents and suggest values for record fields. When uploading, turn on Analyze with AI in the upload dialog (the button then reads Upload & analyze), or use Analyze with AI on a file that is already in a case's documents. A Review extracted fields dialog lets you choose where each value goes (a record field or a custom field) before anything is saved. See Documents.

7. Good Practice

  • A workflow result is a starting point, not a conclusion. Review every finding and section yourself before relying on it.
  • Do not read "nothing found" as "all clear" when the run says there was little to check against, or that documents could not be read.
  • Re-run after changes. If documents are added or details corrected, start a new cross-check. Old runs remain for reference.
  • Keep confirmed details up to date. The cross-check and the I-589 preview are only as good as the verified client and case details they compare against.
