Search, Notifications & Profile
This chapter covers three cross-cutting features available to every CaseBright user regardless of role: Global Search, Notifications, and Your Profile.
1. Global Search
Click the search icon (magnifying glass) in the top navigation bar, or press Ctrl+K / Cmd+K, to open the global search panel.
What you can search
- Cases — by title, case number, or client name
- Clients — by name or email
- Leads — by name or email
- Contacts — by name, company, or email
- Workflows — by workflow name
How to use search
- Type your query in the search box.
- Results appear grouped by type (Cases, Clients, Leads, etc.).
- Click any result to navigate directly to that record.
Search tips
- Search is fuzzy — you don't need to type exact names.
- Use a client's email address to find records quickly when onboarding a new inquiry.
- The search index is org-scoped; you only see results your permissions allow.
2. Notifications
Click the bell icon in the top navigation bar to open your notification panel.
What triggers notifications
Notifications are sent when:
- A case step is assigned to you
- A case you're a member of is updated
- A follow up you own is coming due
- A ticket assigned to you is updated
- A client submits a form through the portal
- Another team member @-mentions you in a note (if applicable)
Managing notifications
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Mark as read | Click the notification |
| Mark all as read | Click Mark all as read at the top |

You can control which notifications you receive:
